Poughkeepsie is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Poughkeepsie is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

When I think of Adams, I think of my childhood. Now a visitor, I find myself stopping here every time I drive through Poughkeepsie. Why? Because everything is fresh and great! I think quality when I think of Adams. Adams has grown with time - and for the better. Not only can I come here for fresh fruits and vegetables, but I know I can find great prepared foods, meats and cheeses and even gifts! They have a great garden center too. What would I improve if I were part of their team? I would create a bigger space for sitting and having a cup of coffee or a quick bite in between errands or meeting up with a friend, maybe integrated with the garden center or gift shop surrounded by plants and books, trinkets, handmade collections or mementos.

I am firm believer of the importance of putting in a review, especially when the quality of service is excellent and customer service is over and beyond. After many years and cakes and cupcakes from Adam’s in Poughkeepsie I have recommended them, but I have never taken a moment out to put in a review. After the amazing, both brilliantly decorated and delicious cake that was made for my nephew I wanted to make sure I took the time to do so. If you’re looking for affordable, delicious, and beautiful Adam’s is the way to go. If you’re looking for tasteful, elegant, and tasty Adam’s is the way to go. If you want something unique and a good customer service experience the bakery manager Jen is patient, detail oriented and professional. You will not be disappointed from using their services and if you are, let them know they will certainly make it right. Pictured is a custom design made for my nephew. Delicious and well done. Green funfetti for FDR and cannoli filling on the top, with chocolate and raspberry on the bottom. Great job Adam’s Bakery Team! Another successful job, many satisfied customers 🫢🏽!

I've been coming her since the 70's. This place is Poughkeepsie's gold nugget for fresh produce, fish, meats, cheese, coffee, baked goods ( esp outstanding fresh bagels and hand piped cannolis). They also have a cute gift shop and a cafe where you can get a bite to eat. I've had both breakfast and lunch here and they've all been great. Highly recommended!

This is certainly one of the best places, if not the best place to buy groceries in Duchess County. I remember when I was a little kid they used to have the most extravagant Christmas display at their store on Route 44 in Poughkeepsie. They have maintained high standards and continue to have great produce, including an extensive organic section. They regularly have organic lemons and organic white sweet potatoes, which is unusual in my experience. They also have a consistent supply of grass fed hanger steak, which my whole family really appreciates and enjoys. They have a wonderful cheese section, pizza counter with fresh margarita pizza, a hot food bar, a fresh pasta center and a wonderful selection of quality groceries. I am always pleased when I go there and I’m sure you will be too … It’s definitely worth the trip.

We had heard that Adams does very well with wedding flowers, and Teri absolutely lived up to that reputation. We first met with her about six months before our wedding and brought along a few inspiration photos, which she was able to recreate beautifully. Communication with her was excellent throughout the planning process, both over the phone and through email, and delivery on the day of was absolutely seamless. About a month before the wedding, we decided to add more floral pieces, and Teri made it so easy to incorporate the updates into our existing quote. Everything turned out even better than we imagined, Adams’ pricing was very reasonable, and our guests raved about the flowers. We couldn’t have been happier with how everything came together!
